What is the Family Workshop?
Our Family Workshop is an engaging, inclusive experience that brings neurodivergent and neurotypical children and their families together to learn, connect, have fun, and celebrate neurodiversity in a safe, welcoming space.
Each workshop blends education, art, play, movement, and storytelling to encourage curiosity, imagination, and self-expression while fostering kindness, empathy, and positive representation.
Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, educator, or community leader, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to redefine Autism education with an experience created and led by autistic voices, sharing authentic insights and lived experiences directly with families.
What’s Inside the Workshop?
This 90-minute, sensory-friendly workshop offers interactive, hands-on experiences that get the whole family learning, creating, and connecting together in a fun, inclusive environment.

The Autism Family Workshop Tour

Answers for families, partners, and supporters about our workshops and the Autism Family Workshop Tour
Q: Why do the family workshops start at $1,500?
A: Each stop provides everything needed for 10 families, with up to 3 people per family, to enjoy a full, engaging, and inclusive experience at no cost to them. Local workshops near New Jersey are approximately $1,500 and include high-quality Autism education and resources, sensory-friendly goody bags for every child, an ABC Flashcard deck for every family, all activity materials, workshop coordination, marketing and outreach, and a sensory bin plus a digital resource pack for each library that hosts us for long-term community use. Travel workshops, which include flights, hotel, and transportation, can cost up to $2,500. Every dollar directly supports families, libraries, and the inclusive learning experiences that make this tour special, ensuring lasting value for all participants.
Q: Who are the workshops designed for?
A: The workshops are designed for neurodivergent and neurotypical children in grades K-6 and their families. Each workshop provides a safe, welcoming space where families can learn, connect, have fun, and celebrate neurodiversity together. Activities are created to be sensory-friendly, inclusive, and engaging for a wide range of learning styles. Families learn through art, play, storytelling, movement, and guided discussions that celebrate differences and deepen Autism understanding.
Q: How does a $35 donation impact a child or family?
A: A $35 donation covers one family member’s full experience, whether a child or an adult. This includes a sensory-friendly goody bag, access to all workshop activities and materials, and a share of their family’s ABC Flashcard deck. A $105 donation supports an entire family of three, allowing them to participate together and take home inclusive tools and learning resources.
We keep costs low so we can reach as many families as possible while still providing a high-quality, meaningful experience. Many other workshops or parent trainings cost as much or often more per person, but our workshops deliver hands-on, interactive learning, multiple take-home materials for each participant, and are designed and led by autistic voices. Every workshop also donates a sensory bin and digital resources to the hosting library for long-term community use, ensuring lasting impact beyond the session.
Q: Is this a paid job for the facilitators?
A: No. The “materials and coordination” category reflects the real value of preparation, setup, workshop materials, activity supplies, take-home resources, and any local travel needed to run the session—not personal income. Every dollar goes directly toward keeping workshops free and providing families, libraries, and communities with high-quality, engaging experiences and access to inclusive Autism education and resources.
Q: How is this different from other programs?
A: Our Autism Family Workshops are fully inclusive, Autism-friendly, and created and led by autistic voices. We blend art, play, storytelling, movement, and advocacy education, offering far more engagement, value, and impact than typical programs. Unlike lecture-style or clinical workshops, ours are interactive, family-centered, and guided by lived experience from a neurodivergent mother-son team. We replace outdated, deficit-based narratives with inclusive, identity-affirming, and strength-based approaches and resources. Every family leaves with tools and information they can continue to use, and every library receives resources to support the community long after the workshop ends.
